Prague - Vienna

onsdag 6. juli 2011

After 5 hours on a train filled with Swedes and Norwegians on both sides, we finally reached Austria's Hauptstadt. We struggled a bit to find the right platform for our train in Prague to Vienna, but after a bit of waiting and a lot of running, we finally found the right place to wait. This train was way more comfortable than the one from Berlin to Prague, it wasn't as cold and abandoned as the Hungarian train.

When we arrived in Vienna around 15:30, we ran around in the city to look for a hostel. We hadn't made any reservations and we knew it would be hard to find any spare beds. We went to several different hostels but they were all fully booked! We were finally adviced to go to a hostel right around the corner and as we walked in the door we were met by a smiling lady who was eager to fix us a room. "No problem" she continuasly said in a hard-to-understand English accent. They had a spare apartment, however it was only available for one night, but we took it anyway. We're staying here at Happy Hostel in Kurzgasse close to Westbahnhof. http://www.happyhostel.at/ There will be spare dorm room beds tomorrow morning, so we'll change beds then. A dorm room is much cheaper than an apartment like this (€23/178NOK - €35/271NOK) however it seems expensive compared to the 25 bed dorm room we had in Prague. (€10/80NOK per night)

Tomorrow we'll explore the city of Vienna and visit the famous market "Naschmarkt".

Gute Nacht!
