Ciao from Venice!

lørdag 9. juli 2011

After an interesting night-train ride from Vienna, we reached the incredibly hot city of Venice. During the night we had to share a tiny cabin with four other people. It resulted in a lot of "cuddling", bumping and snoring, and as the Spanish girl next to us said; We looked like a family.
Squeezed up to each other after putting the seats backwards into one big bed, we listened to the rhythmical song of the train as we tried to find a comfortable position to sleep in. Most people fell asleep quite fast, which left me and a Spanish guy giggling by the heavy snoring from our friends.

When we finally stepped off the train we were almost hit to the ground by the hot air. We ran around, sweaty and thirsty, looking for Internet to find out how to reach our hostel. When we finally got to the camp, we rented a sweet little tent with two beds in it. http://www.hostelworld.com/hosteldetails.php/Camping-Rialto/Venice/45188

Later, we walked around for the rest of the day in the tiny streets in the city. We were charmed by the small channels, the old architecture and the narrow streets. A group of Norwegians poked my rucksack with the big Norwegian flag on, and asked if I was a Norwegian. They smiled and gave us a ticket which is valid on all transport boats and buses. How nice of them! We then tried the transport boat all the way through one of Venice's biggest channels. Beautiful view :)

According to the weather reports it's going to get even hotter tomorrow than today.

The beach; here we come!
