Grüß Gott!

It's so hot! Yesterday we went to Der Naschmarkt to see what Vienna's biggest market had to offer. We haggled some pair of glasses and a fancy t-shirt. (For Veslemøy's daddy, Pink Floyd!) The t-shirt originally cost €20/155NOK and the glasses €10/77NOK, but we managed to haggle it down to €15/115NOK for both of them. Half price! "Only for you." :-)
We also had a quick stop in the Prater amusement park.

After that, we went to look at the Schönbrunn Palace and to take a walk in the nearby park. We walked down a long shopping street close to Westbahnhof and down to a beautiful castle!
Yesterday morning we were supposed to change rooms, but for some reason we were allowed to stay one more night for the same price as the cheaper room in the apartment. It was almost half the price as it originally cost! Great! :-)

Today we went to St. Augustine church and admired at the huge altar. There were a couple of Christian people praying with rosary, which kind of fascinated us since Norway is not a particularly religious country. We also went to see the national library which was right next to the church. The library gave us a real Harry Potter feeling; the shelves were huge and filled with old books, carved sculptures and beautiful paintings in the ceiling.

Something that is very different compared to Norway is that both in Prague and Vienna they don't take bank/credit cards anywhere in the smaller shops/kiosks and most places they sell food! (Except of on the malls of course.) Neither do they take cards in train stations nor on the trains, which is very frustrating! We can't remember the last time we couldn't pay with cards in Norway. Culture shock! :p

We have booked two seat tickets for the night train to Venice tonight at 20:40, it'll arrive at 08:34 in the morning. We've heard that in most of the trains in Italy we have to pay reservation fees in order to get a seat, even with a global pass InterRail ticket. Luckily the tickets only cost €7/55NOK each.

We've tried some of the traditional foods, such as Wienerschnitzel and Wurst-Croissant. Quite greasy but it tasted very nice! Now we're about to head out to get some dinner and buy some snacks to bring on the train.

"Salmon fillet. Quality from the cold and clear water in the Norwegian fjords" Hihi

Tschüß!
